12.03.2018.

In the municipality of Jezero on March 12, 2018, there was meeting of the Mayor of East Drvar municipality, Milka Ivanković, the Mayor of East Kupres municipality, Gojko Šebez and the Mayor of Jezero municipality, Snežana Ružičić. the aim of the meeting was to sign the Initiative and send a Request to the Ministry of Finance for funding the creating of the Development Strategies of the Municipalities of East Drvar, Eastern Kupres and Jezero as the undeveloped municipalities in the Republika Srpska.

Municipalities of Jezero, East Drvar and East Kupres are small local communities, extremely underdeveloped, with very modest budget funds. The normal functioning of all three municipalities would not be possible without the help of the Government of Republika Srpska and other donors. However, the lack of strategic plans, first and foremost, the Municipal Development Strategy is often one of the limiting factors for participation in various public calls from domestic and international donors, and thus the brake of further development of municipalities.

Existing Development Strategies do not meet standards and are not integrated development strategies. Integrated Development Strategies are necessary for our municipalities a planning document that will provide implementation of projects from donor funds.

By signing a joint initiative for the Development Strategy, we create the basis for the development of a joint Regional Development Strategy and thus make a joint step in planning a better future for our citizens.
